Greetings,
The machinima made by Khandy and Mark, Showdown; was posted on youtube today.
The movie is in youtube quality so the sound is not that good.
The sound design for the battle was intended to be harmonious rather than chaotic.
Though this was only true for the sword fight.
In the fist fight, the camera started moving all over and the it felt chaotic, so the sound of them hitting one-another became in the end a chaotic Mano-e-Mano.
My biggest concern and what I wanted to achieve most, was the swords being like music rather than the cling and clang, that we normally get from swords.
In order to get this right, a lose blade on a broken wooden shaft, vibrating on a metal surface. was used to get the sound of the blades. There is also a Homage to blizzards sound team in it; when the elf draws the sword out of his belly, he jumps. The jump sound was designed by me, but to add the homage I used the sound of the blademasters mirror image that is from Warcraft 3, to give an interesting layer that worked godly.
Take a look at the Vimeo version since it got better sound quality.

BaronSoosdon recently reworked his own movie the FF6 trailer. No more rickrolls, and the original music. I also did some extra to the sound design as well as audio leveling it. I think I could've done a better job at the audio leveling cos some of the sound design vanished or was deafned by the music. I will not do that again in the next mix. Trial and error folks.

News of the audio tutorial
Hello, been a hectic week so far.
Lots of stuff happening.
Finishing the sound design for Khandy's movie: Showdown, lots of voice acting from my end, trying to get some of the others in the design team to work on their profiles.
It is all coming along nicely now and soon there be a huge update from our end.
When it comes to the audio tutorial, well it is done.
It was done actually sometime ago.
But after watching it and listening to myself, I noticed that it wasn't that well explained. So I recorded some extra information, as well as some tips and tricks in doing voice acting.
I also spent lots of time figureing out some cool video stuff so that it isin't just listening to me talking and talking and talking.
I try to be funny too which I think I failed at horribly.
Now the only thing that remains is my website server to go back online for me to upload it. If it doesn't soon, I be uploading it to vimeo, youtube and filefront. Release date is definitly this week :)
Until then, Be epic stay legendary.

Small Blog Update
Here is a small blog update:
BaronSoosdon's WWI Contest entry was released today, it contains my sound design. This is the original version, there will be a different one later which will have some minor updates to the audio as well.
Other streams will be available as BaronSoosdon release it on different places. Keep your eyes peeled :)
Edit: I've added the sound designs on youtube with annotation, and I added a vimeo version which got better overall quality.
Enjoy!

Sound Designs:
Vimeo Version with better video and audio quality, recommended to watch first before the annotation version.
Youtube Version with annotations explaining some of the sounds. They can be a bit quick so pause the movie if you wanna check them out.

First Audio tutorials progress #2
Okay so the tutorial is now done in editing, the only thing left is an animation being provided by pinkhair, once I get it, the audio tutorial will be posted immediately.
I am also now going to do sound design, foley and music mixing for Showdown, which is a Machinima created by Khandy. I will begin with it as soon as my tutorial is up. I've put it off for too long already.
Won't be long now kids so remember,
Be epic, stay legendary

First Audio tutorials progress
The first audio tutorial is now 100% finished recorded, it is 80+ minutes long. I am going to remove majority of it as there was software malfunctions happening while recording it as well as I forgot to turn off MSN...arn't we just professionals :)=
The video editing is just to make it seem friendlier, put up some annotations like links to websites and highlighting certain tools I am talking about. Also I plan on putting some wow models in it to just spice the scene alittle without feeling distracting.
I got some of the part well recorded and all in all, if you are a complete newbie in audio recording and so, I cover the basics in the best way I can so you can follow even though you don't know much.
It will be up hopefully on friday or on saturday. Until then:

Greetings
Allo all of the internet. welcome to the Oto ninja designs team's blog. Here we will post any of our progress in our designs and show you how to do designs and such yourself.
There is an audio tutorial coming very soon for you to check out, I won't babble too much about it.
If you are interested to join the team, post on this blog and I'll get to you.
The name of the design team is not from Naruto, which is an Anime. The headline was taken from a person that drew a ninja with a note on the forehead and I had no idea it was naruto thingy. This will all change when I get somebody to fix a picture up. The team consist by Me; Glenn X. Govan aka Caruu, Daniel Merridan and Yun kim. They will have profiles up soon with their own work.
We tend to work induvidualy on projects but we do help eachother out to get a desired sound and we share our knowledge with one another.
We do not take requests of this time to work audio wise, but we will soon :) Check out the links and such while you wait for the audio tutorials to be posted.
